The Teacher's Desk
While a virtual environment can hold the attention of students, assessment and evaluation tools are important to the teacher.
A Reading Ahead learning object allows the teacher to see all of the work a student does. All of the student's entries, postings and results of their activities and exercises are available for the teacher to assess and evaluate through the teacher's desk.
If the teacher wishes to congratulate the student on a job well done, or perhaps give a little nudge of encouragement, he or she can send a private message to students to their virtual rooms or lockers.
The teacher report also allows the teacher to view an entire class. The reports record all of the activities the students have worked through, giving the teacher a quick and easy tool to assess and evaluate the progress of the entire class.
